God we’re going to miss you, Stefon.

I don’t really know why I’m sharing this. This is one of the most saddest and most beautiful places in my memory, and it holds a sacred and devastating power over me. But its just a place. 

But what happened for four hours before I walked where they walked, and at the exact moment at the end of those four hours, standing at that sign, will be burned into my mind and my heart for the rest of my life. No matter what pain I have felt, or come what may in the future, this moment, as the overly clichéd Katy Perry song “Wide Awake” drummed quietly in the background, will resonate within my soul more powerfully than I will ever be able to express.
